HER PASSION FOR BALLET STARTED EARLY
Although she was enrolled to music classes at the kindergarten, she used to sneak into dancing classes. Her teachers, noticing this, called and suggested her mom to send her daughter to ballet classes. However, her mom thought that music classes were better for her because of the belief that an incorrect ballet training at an early age may cause problems later on life which may not be solved again. Despite this belief, her parents realized in time that her passion for ballet was growing bigger. Eventually they started searching for a special institution where she could get a ballet training.
ISTANBUL STATE OPERA AND BALLET YEARS
The first step towards a ballet training was taken when they met Gülen Andak who organized the year end ceremonies at the Isik Highschool Beyza was attending. After 1.5 years training at Gülen Andak's Ballet School, Beyza Sekerci took the entrance exams for Children's Ballet of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet in October, 1995 and she succeeded to be one of the forty children who passed the exam. She started to work as a paid Child Ballet Dancer at Istanbul State Opera. Her first professional dancing experience on the stage was with the Cinderella musical.
BALLET YEARS AT MIMAR SINAN UNIVERSITY FINE ARTS FACULTY
As soon as she finished elementary school she took the entrance exams of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory Ballet Department. With the beginning of conservatory years, "ballet" was now her profession.
She went through a highly disciplined training period and she maintained her self-discipline during her years of study. Her parents - who are both chemists - always supported their daughter and provided all the means for her in realizing her dreams.
She finished her 4-years undergraduate study in 3 years and graduated from Conservatory in 2008. During her nine years study at the Conservatory, she continued to work as a contract dancer at Istanbul State Opera and Ballet.
